Female Guardians
At Maple Lane Australian Labradoodles, we believe every dog deserves a loving family. We look for guardian homes that offer a warm, caring environment for our breeding dogs while we cover all breeding-related expenses. As these dogs retire from breeding, they seamlessly transition into simply a cherished part of the family they’ve grown to love.
While we love having a house full of dogs, there are only so many we can provide the attention and training they need. So, to ensure that every dog has a loving home, we place our prospective breeding dogs with local families at no cost. This family will be their forever family and they'll come back to us to deliver and care for their puppies.
As a guardian home, your responsibilities include:
01
Advanced Dog Training: After puppy kindergarten, further training is necessary. Training should first focus on manners and obedience. The Canine Good Citizen Award is ideal.
02
Socialization: Regularly expose the dog to varied environments and experiences to foster a well-adjusted pet.
03
Regular Expenses: Cover routine costs like food, grooming, and vet visits, while we manage breeding costs like testing and supplements to support their health.
04
Diet: Feed the dog our recommended food and vitamin regimen.
05
Safety: Maintain your dog’s safety with proper containment and leash use in public places.
06
Vet Visits: Cooperate with timing and transportation for breeding-related vet visits and testing.
07
Health Requirements: Adhere to breeding-related health requirements, such as spacing out vaccinations and high-quality nutrition needs.
08
Photo Updates: Send regular photos for their personal feature on our website.

Female guardian dogs should live within 60 minutes of Annville, PA, and be comfortable in our home environment. You’ll need to keep us informed of her heat cycles and be prepared for her to stay with us during the last week of her pregnancy and until her puppies are weaned, generally at 6 weeks old. You’re welcome to visit mama and her puppies once the puppies are 2 weeks old.
Guardian puppies are generally placed after 5 months of age in order to allow us time to complete their hip testing.
Male guardian dogs must be within 30 minutes of Annville, PA, available for breeding sessions. Periodic health screenings will be done at our expense. We'll ask for your assistance with transportation to our home for breedings.
